We painted the master bathroom a shade of tan with white trim. There are bronze faucets, dark stained woods, and a window I don’t know how to decorate. Venetian blinds? Café curtain? Roman shades? Swag? For now, there is a bronze curtain rod at the top and cheap white vinyl blinds. Until then , it’s the small touches that make a house a home.

Note the lack of plastic cover of the pull cords? With a needle, thread, clear nail polish, and a few beads left over from a jewelry project, I quickly customized the blind pull.

Chandelier Earring Refashion

It’s been half a month since my last blog post, that’s all of July! We had a houseful of visitors for the first week of July and then we had a few days to get back to work on our house. That didn’t last long, since the third day back I ended up in the ER with horrible chest pains and shortness of breathe! Hubster did a great job taking care of me. I have half a week left of all my meds and hopefully I’ll be feeling like myself again. I feel horrible when I’m not able to cook/bake, craft/create, blog and not do anything but sleep.

We had a cousin’s wedding to attend yesterday and I spent 10 mins making something for me. Without an ounce of energy left in me, I needed something to still make me feel beautiful. Earrings are always my solution…. even if I sat down through the entire reception (so not me!).

I bought a pair or earrings when Hubster and I started dating and quickly lost one. I held onto the mate hoping to find it hidden somewhere in my life. Eventually the time comes where you have to toss it or refashion it into a new pair. I love the new earrings I made, but I was hoping to find two more teal crystal beads, one for the top of each earring (the second bead under the hook).

Sea Glass Inspired Earrings
I love chandelier earrings, I love beaded earrings, and I love making earrings. My wardrobe consists of a lot of turquoise and green. I made a green pair of earrings over a year ago that has a mix of browns, tans and dark greens. I love them and wear them often, but they just don’t go with all of my green tops… In fact, they don’t go with the Christmas shirt I just embellished. I decided to use the left over beads to make a complementary pair, which combines my favorite colors. The base frame for my earrings are my favorite to use, this is now the third pair I’ve made for myself using this frame.

I made a pair just before Christmas and I made this pair yesterday, I’d say my earring fetish has been feed, at least for a while longer…
