*About Young Wifey*

Growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, my friends often teased about my Cleaveresque family. From the outside, there was a perfect nuclear family, my dad was the bread-winner and my mother enjoyed making food from scratch. From the inside I saw not only the traditional roles everyone suspected as well as the role reversal, my dad was doing the dishes and mopping and my mother was cutting a hole in the wall to create a new doorway. My dad didn’t say “swell” or “the bees knees” and my mother didn’t vacuüm with pearls and an up-do. But I do… sometimes.

Young Wifey at Work

Young Wifey at Work

Now that Hubster lured me to a small central Pennsylvania town, I enjoy carrying on the same family values and traditions which were instilled upon me early in life.

Young Wifey’s Blog is about gardening & landscaping, cooking & baking, home decor, home-improvement, DIY, sewing, creating (crafting), marriage, friendship, kids and taking care of my family. Everything that deals with being a Young Wifey. My blog started as a way to share my projects and life with my family & friends near and far and has turned into a resource for other wives, moms, friends, bakers, cooks, crafters, gardeners, DIYers, jewelry makers, etc…

Please comment on my posts if you have any questions (I’ll answer them), need a further explanation, thoughts, particularly like something, or would like to see something in particular. Don’t by shy!

XOXO,
Young Wifey

  9. We have a lot in common, let us discuss.

  10. Oh! You need to make your name a link when leaving comments about the blogosphere, so folk can follow you. 🙂

After your comment on my urban daisy photoblog (not the name I am logged in under, but too slack to change between them when commenting!), I followed a hunch and typed in yourname + wordpress, and here you are.

    Thanks for your visit!

Hello! Thank you for your lovely comment! Nice to find new friends with lovely blogs! When I read about your family I thought it’s the same here…my husband cooks and I prefer to dig in the garden and together we put the tiles on the roof etc.
    Best wishes to you! Teje

  14. Cute. I’m a new wifey too. We got hitched in July. I wear cute aprons when I cook, I like to make things from scratch, and my grandmother loves the 50’s housewife undertone of it all! I’m all about women’s rights etc., but I love tradition also. Your blog theme reminds me of my own. Thanks for checkin it out 😉
