Growing up in the suburbs of Philadelphia, my friends often teased about my Cleaveresque family. From the outside, there was a perfect nuclear family, my dad was the bread-winner and my mother enjoyed making food from scratch. From the inside I saw not only the traditional roles everyone suspected as well as the role reversal, my dad was doing the dishes and mopping and my mother was cutting a hole in the wall to create a new doorway. My dad didn’t say “swell” or “the bees knees” and my mother didn’t vacuüm with pearls and an up-do. But I do… sometimes.

Young Wifey at Work
Now that Hubster lured me to a small central Pennsylvania town, I enjoy carrying on the same family values and traditions which were instilled upon me early in life.
Young Wifey’s Blog is about gardening & landscaping, cooking & baking, home decor, home-improvement, DIY, sewing, creating (crafting), marriage, friendship, kids and taking care of my family. Everything that deals with being a Young Wifey. My blog started as a way to share my projects and life with my family & friends near and far and has turned into a resource for other wives, moms, friends, bakers, cooks, crafters, gardeners, DIYers, jewelry makers, etc…
Please comment on my posts if you have any questions (I’ll answer them), need a further explanation, thoughts, particularly like something, or would like to see something in particular. Don’t by shy!
XOXO,
Young Wifey

Just found your blog when you mentioned it on FB. love it. I so enjoy reading other people’s thoughts and ideas. I have a former student, now an English teacher in NJ, who blogs daily and I love reading hers also. Keep it up.
It’s nice to be retired and read blogs all day, huh? 🙂 I love the feedback!
Hi Youngwifey. Want to be my next featured housewife?
Tell us how it is to be young, married, and figuring it all out…
I’d love to Harvard Housewife!
Just found your blog, love it! Keep it up.
Thank you! 🙂
We have a lot in common, let us discuss.
DD, I lost your email, send me another message!
Oh! You need to make your name a link when leaving comments about the blogosphere, so folk can follow you. 🙂
After your comment on my urban daisy photoblog (not the name I am logged in under, but too slack to change between them when commenting!), I followed a hunch and typed in yourname + wordpress, and here you are.
Thanks for your visit!
Thanks for stopping by. My name used to be linked when I commented, I didn’t realize it no longer was. I think I straightened out the situation.
Hello! Thank you for your lovely comment! Nice to find new friends with lovely blogs! When I read about your family I thought it’s the same here…my husband cooks and I prefer to dig in the garden and together we put the tiles on the roof etc.
Best wishes to you! Teje
Thanks for stopping by here too.
I like the new pumpkin seed picture at the top of your blog. You inspire me to start a blog of my own, maybe for New Year!
Thanks, You should totally do it. You’ll have to send me the link once you get set!
I love your blog! Ur pic is great.
Thanks Brandy!
Cute. I’m a new wifey too. We got hitched in July. I wear cute aprons when I cook, I like to make things from scratch, and my grandmother loves the 50’s housewife undertone of it all! I’m all about women’s rights etc., but I love tradition also. Your blog theme reminds me of my own. Thanks for checkin it out 😉
xo

Thanks for stopping by Cabinet Stew…I only have one question for you…
Is that a fluff sandwich in your top photo?!!!
I love it!
Is a grilled pound cake with crème fraîche, pomegranate and tangerines. The only time I use fluff is for veggie s’mores.
Cute. I like to make things from scratch too!
Welcome! Isn’t it so much better?
Love the blog!
Thank you & welcome! Feel free to come back & browse anytime. 🙂
Love your blog, I might have to sick around and browse it a while.

Hello,
This is Jasmin from A Touch of RoJo and my husband and I wanted to pass the Stylish Blogger Award to you. We hop that you haven’t received this yet. That would really stink. But if you haven’t, then jump up and down!!! We enjoy your blog and the recipes are awesome and inspiring. Not only the cooking but your crafting as well. I am getting back into my old hobby of crafting and will be putting up some work soon on our blog. So stay tuned. But for now, enjoy your award and check out our blog for instructions.
