I haven’t posted in a while. Back to school is always busy and I’ve also been taking a really intensive class. Not much time to even spend with Hubster & Pumpkin now.
This week we only had 1 1/2 days of school due to the flooding going on in our part of PA. Bloomsburg seems to received the worst of it. I was there for the flood of ’06, it was pretty scary and that’s nothing compared to what they’re going through now. Going to college there and living there for 6 years, this really breaks my heart. Many were evacuated, many are without water & power. My thoughts & prayers are with everyone who was effected by this flooding. These photos are not of Bloomsburg, as all the roads were closed. This is the flooding directly around where we live.
- Since we haven’t even unpacked our bedroom yet, I’m going to clean out Hubster & my closets and see what extra clothing we have to donate.
Were you effected by the flooding? Or another natural disaster recently?
Glad to hear that you all are all right. Those photos are heartbreaking for what they do not show: the homes lost and the lives impacted. Here’s hoping the rest of 2011 is quiet, weather-wise, that is. And, of course, welcome back!
There are some crazy photos & videos from the flooding. I even saw a house smash into a bridge. Luckily everyone was out safe (it belonged to a friend of a friend).
Donations are a wonderful idea! Hope you’re able to help a lot!
Me too!
I’m relieved that’s a bathroom and not someone’s home. Still hate to see a public park damaged of course. Hope you stay safe and dry.
Unfortunately there are many homes that look like this. I don’t have the heart to post those pics though…
My goodness, I’m so sorry about the flooding! Glad you are okay. It’s so sad to see the park under water like that. I hope the water goes down soon.
Thanks! I hope so too!
That is heartbreakin! Glad ur safe!
Thanks Casey! That’s exactly how I feel too!
All those people who lost their homes! I’m keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers!
Thanks Elle! Me too!
Welcome back, we missed you! That flooding is scary stuff, stay dry!
Thank you and luckily I am!
Really sorry about the flooding. I give you courage.
Trust me when I say that many children here in Spain would wish to have a flooding like that time by time if that means to not go to school lol.
Well, I remember in Galicia similar floodings…but not so devastating. The pics you took are amazing, but it could be dangerous, stay away from the flood 😉
Thanks Javier! Our students were thrilled to have off school too!
Yes, and welcome! I’ve been busy like you too, but now we are back, right? 😀
See you
🙂 Yes, now we’re back!
That’s crazy! Luckily south Florida has escaped all the hurricane and tropical storms thus far. I get so nervous because I only live blocks from the beach in Fort Lauderdale and I know if we get a hurricane or a storm this season, that there is a HUGE possibility that we could see flooding of this proportion. The streets flood a little bit when it rains hard here. I can’t imagine a hurricane. I’ve lived here almost 5 years and luckily haven’t experienced any yet.
My prayers and thoughts go out to all affected by these disasters.
Lucky you! Stay safe!
I grew up in Bloomsburg (1954-66), and know how devastating these floods are. I am glad you are ok.
Thanks Bob! I thought the one in ’06 was bad, I never thought I’d see worse! Do you still go back to Bloom to visit?
