The Way To A Man’s Heart Is Through His Stomach
Before Hubster, I never put too much thought into the holiday! Yes, I do think it’s a bit commercial, but I also love a day where everyone is a little nicer to each other. I just love when he makes a homemade valentine for me, they’re so much more thoughtful that a store-bought card (how can someone else put your emotions, experiences and memories into words?).
It has been my tradition to make a formal coursed meal every year for Hubster. I make everything from scratch, the pasta, dressings and even the butter for the bread/rolls. There are usually a few similarities from the previous years, but the tradition of our favorites makes the day extra special.
Valentine’s Day Menu 2010
First Course – Baked Sweet Asparagus
Second Course – French Onion Soup
Third Course – Caesar Salad
Fourth Course – Raspberry Sorbet
Fifth Course – Meat & Cheese Ravioli
Sixth Course – Roast Chicken & Roasted New Potatoes
Seventh Course – Ribbon Salad
Eight Course – Almond Ice Cream with Berries
Ninth Course – Chocolate Covered Strawberry Cake
Meal served with oregano Parmeseam breadsticks and whipped unsalted butter.
How did he like the ravioli with the meat?
Looks like a lovely date night!
He couldn’t tell the difference. He wants me to mix the meat and cheese together next time. Like a pocket lasagna.
Then you rolled into the living room and passed out?
WOw! How long did that take you?
Not as long as Thanksgiving since I was only cooking for two.

That all looks so beautiful – what an amazing way to show your love! The shake from the ‘leftovers’ looks and sounds yummy too!
Thanks! I agree, it’s about the gestures!
The strawberry stuff looks AMAZING!!! Did you happen to post the receipe?
Actually, I was going to last week and never got around to it. I’ll make sure I get it up this week for you!
Fabulous! I will be on the lookout for it!
