Instead of the traditional wreath I usually hang on my door each year, I decided to make a wreath that would not scatter pine needles as it dried. I took several pine cones and attached them to satin ribbons. I used colors that went with my exterior decor (oatmeal and chocolate) as well as a a reddish (merlot) one that complimented the colors and gave me a longer display season. I glued small silver beads to several of the pine cones to add a bit of sparkle. I’m not completely happy with the out turn. I think I need to add a little something to fill it out… but I need to think on it for a while. I couldn’t get a good picture due to the poor lighting. What do you think?
*I* think it’s beautiful!
It looks nice.
I like it- simple and classic.
Thanks everyone! It’s grown on me the past few days.
I love that! I would use the scented pine cones for this so the house will smell all holiday-y (I swear that’s a word) when guests come by.
That’s what I did! Thanks for stopping by!
I like the non-traditional wreath idea. Nice!
Thanks!
It’s pretty and a nice change. I did this with some antique bells. One for the front and one for the back. Maybe pinecones will be the choice this year. Thanks for sharing!
I have seen ones done with bells, but all the bells at the craft stores look cheap. Your antique bells sound beautiful!
